​​​What is Veganism?
​​
Living vegan means not supporting animal use, such as:
  • Eating them or what comes from them
  • Wearing them
  • Using them for entertainment
  • Testing on them

Being vegan isn't about being perfect.  It's about doing what we can to prevent the violation of other animals' rights.  This also involves not prejudging others because of the species they belong to, which is known as speciesism.

In addition to preventing rights violations, there are potential benefits for our planet.  Cowspiracy is an informative documentary around this.

There is no biological requirement to eat or use other animals.  The only supplement vegans should take is B12.  B12 is a bacteria found in dirt, which is removed during modern farming methods.  Animals who are raised to be eaten are injected with B12, so we're getting the supplement either way.

These experiences mean they have interests, which are protected by the rights.  Perhaps the most important right which we are all born with is to be respected, and to not be needlessly bred or killed.
